The phrase "PC" in reference to a Windows (or MS-DOS) based computer is a widely acknowledged and understood colloquialism. Only nerds recognize the distinction, but even they understand what it means.
Riding a bike the wrong way on the sidewalk is widely considered the right way to ride a bike. Nothing wrong with trying to educate people.
