True..racing takes skill, technique and strategy. But if look at the bf forums and how much conversation is devoted to technique? Not very much..it's mostly equipment. That tells you something.

If you went to a golf forum I'd guess that technique discussions would outnumber the equipment discussions. If you go to an inline skating site (like skatelog.com) you get a lot of equipment discussion but far more technique.


If you go to a running forum you'll find training discussions and injury discussions but like bf not much about technique (injuries get a lot of play on the running forums).


I'm just pointing out the distinction between sports that takes a great deal of skill compared to those that require little skill but a lot of training. Just my opinion.
