Yup, I've got one. A good one, too. Does it hurt me on a bike? Well, a bunch of blood leaking back through the valve ain't gonna help. I can say that in most situations I can pretty much hang with most people. I'm never going to be a pro athlete, but I'm not sure I can blame that on anything in my heart.

In general, it's something that you need to keep an eye on. The prolapse itself isn't that big of a deal. The problem is when your heart starts to expand to make up for the blood that it can't pump. Then it starts working against the fluid in the cardiac sack and it gets harder and harder to pump. This is when things start going bad.

In general, stay active, eat well, and be healthy. If you get to the point where you have to have a valve replaced, you'll be strong enough to live through it. That's been my motto. I've lived with this knowledge since I was about 10 years old, and have just decided to embrace it. I've played all sorts of sports and have not really had any bad symptoms show up.

The best chemical to take care of a panic attack is the endorphines you get after a big workout. Try it and you'll get hooked. I promise.
