If you are taking your bike to work for the first time and there is enough space to store your bike in the office and out of the way, DO NOT ASK PERMISSION BEFORE YOU STORE IT. Your boss is much more likely to refuse if you ask rather than if he comes in and sees the bike there. It also gives the boss more chance to see it's not causing an obsruction before he refuses.

Has anybody noticed how people in the same company get inspired when they see you cycling to work. I sit there and listen to them saying how much they need to get to the gym and lose weight while I sit there scoffing tea and biscuits still looking as skinny as the day I lost my cherry :-)
