Who's up for a ride up Mount Everest?

No sprinters please, this is a summit attempt. It would also be advised that you put on some fatter tires to deal with the uneven terrain. A weight weenie build is also a must, both for the bike and the rider. Aerodynamics be damned. However, we won't be needing any camping gear. It will be like an extended hill climb race.

You will need to bring along two neoprene skin suits. You will wear one on the way up.

After the summit is reached, an attempt will be made to set a new speed record for a bicycle by descending down the slopes. As you well know, descending on a bike from such an altitude can give you terrible hypothermia. This is where the second skin suit comes in.

Simply put on the second skin suit and stuff snow in the cavities between your clothing. Don't worry about the snow melting, the 100 km/h winds from the descent will provide refrigeration.

The group will meet in the Tibet base camp on April 1st where oxygen tents and *COUGH* e *COUGH* p *COUGH* o *COUGH* will be supplied to help you get acclimatized to the altitude.

The plan is to ride from base camp to the summit in 8 hours on May 10th. Stragglers will be left behind.
