ID guys have a hard time finding jobs. Most I have seen end up in a technical position and promote to be titled engineers. BTW, marketing majors have a hard time getting what they want after graduation. Supply and demand are not your best friend in both of these.

I think someone strong in aerospace with co-op or intern experience at a bike manufacturer would be the best fit. I would highly recommend learning Catia which has very strong surfacing capability.

If you want to be a superstar, it is best to stay single for the first five years of your career as a designer (design engineer). That way you can get in your 60 hour weeks and still cycle with no guilt.
