as far starting out both work and school is about 6 miles away. is that resonable for a beginer on a fixed gear or should i be looking at something else here. i live in san antonio tx most of the riding will be done on the acess road of the highway so should be pretty smooth
All that takes is getting in shape. You don't have to start commuting every day, just start riding a few miles each day. I got back into cycling like 6 months ago and the first few days I was exhausted after my one mile commute then in a few weeks i was going on 20 mile rides for fun 4 days a week.
