Can someone summarize the differences in feel between Shimano & Sram for me?

I prefer the Sram over Shimano on mtb stuff, but am looking at buying a road bike. I'll be in the Ultegra or Rival price range. I currently have a cross bike with 105 & Tiagra stuff & it's okay....
