My personal experience with many of these units is that the resistance of the Dymotech 6 is not that different than the resistance of the older Union dynamos, and that the Union lamps have significantly better optics than the Lumotech (well, that actually depends if you want your beam spread laterally [Union] or longitudinally [Lumotech]; I prefer the wider beam of the Union, and IMO it's better focused, too). You can get screw base halogen bulbs for the older Union lamps from Reflectalite:
