Probably not. I have a modestly priced pair of commuter shoes that I use (duh) on my commuter and have used for a couple of spin classes. The cleat isn't a perfect fit on the spin cycles but it's close enough. I've only done a couple but those spin classes can be fun with a good instructor. I love showing up in full cyclist kit w/ shaved legs to a room full of Brooklyn hipsters.

It's the only chance I get to ride w/ my cycling cap exposed to the air instead of under a helmet.
