Not to sound too much like a right-wing whack-job, but most anti-gunners suffer from the delusion that they do not need to protect themselves because the government will do it for them. We are guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness but that's it.

Yes, you do have the freedom to not carry; please do not infringe on my freedom to do so. I am a responsible citizen who values the rights of others and obeys the laws of the land. I am no threat to you; on the contrary, I will (and have) come to the aid of any innocent person who is under attack.
