If some angry motorist actually wants to stop and get in range for a card, I'll presume an assault is imminent and act accordingly.
Personally, I find it utterly preposterous to think that in the heat of the moment anyone is going to convince someone else they are wrong and make them have a sudden roadside epiphany.
Biker: "Here's a card to read about how wrong you are. Please correct your boorish motorist behavior."
Motorist: *pauses and reads card*
Motorist: "By golly you're correct. I've wronged you. I'll mend my ways and might I buy you a pint at the pub?" *offers hand in apology*
