Probably the best was buying a used Terry Ti saddle that immediately allowed me to ride an extra hour or two. It was included on a used bike that I purchased for $50.
Second was a medium-to-large handlebar bag, that carries all of my stuff. Hangs off of the back of the seat on my bent. Cost about $20 from Nashbar.
Third was the stay-mounted kickstand on my recumbent. The bent already weighed over 40 pounds and was hard to lean up against things. I use it 5 or more times on most rides. It was also around $20.
