The US population is getting older and sicker. The costs to care for our aging population are only going to go up. Dissuading people from seeking a career in healthcare by limiting compensation is not the answer to the problem. Enticing people into the profession through attractive wage and benefit packages is.

You can program a computer to monitor your stock portfolio, pcad. But you can't program one to put you on a bedpan, or feed you after you've had a stroke.
