Hi smurf hunter, I have used my commuter, a Giant Cypress R pictured below, for light touring many times and it has worked very well. The furthest I have toured on it was for a 7 day 1000 km credit card tour on a combination of paved roads and rail trails.
I finally bought a new Cannondale T2000 for full loaded touring as I found myself wanting to take more stuff. I think that your Kona Dew Deluxe will work out great for you.
