Frames don't go fast, riders do. A frame is far more about comfort than performance for 99% of the people who straddle a bike. Racing crits I like a nice stiff aluminum frame with compact geometry for cornering and maximum power transfer while sprinting. For long road rides I enjoy the feel of carbon. Personal choice, might not work for someone else. I've been beat plenty of times by guys with less expensive bikes.
