Well, I think Andrew was basically asking what purpose the tires would serve. I.e. standard studded tires for general use or tires solely dedicated to ice-racing. The latter would allow you to go a lot more hardcore with things as they wouldn't ever be used on anything but ice. A regular studded tire for general use would have to be set up to withstand riding on dry asphalt, etc.
