Really does depend on the quality of the exercise bike. But most gyms I've been in, the bike that did readout watts weren't doing it with anything resembling a Powertap, SRM or Ergo. and had to be way off, based on perceived exertion.

Add in the use, abuse, and lack of maintenence, and I'd question the accuracy of most watt readouts on exercise bikes.
