I should mention that there are vanity points in play .. which looks better?

SRAM Red is hot (and newish) .. Ultegra SL is newish also and not that bad looking, plus all my other bikes are Shimano, so for compatibility the SL may have a very very slight edge.

The concealed cable routing and material (carbon) put Red above SL in style points .. but style ain't free, obviously.
