Stop making me laugh! It's killing me...really! I don't think I cracked any ribs, but the chest muscles sure are sore. Deep breaths are ok, but quick movements are out!
The comment on me riding a TT bike and going through the car is hysterical!
I got a police report, and refused medical attention at the site because everything seemed to be functioning. I really thought I split my chin wide open (it felt that way), but when I removed the balaclava there was not a scratch.
Please don't take me over the coals for this, but I really felt bad for this old guy. I profusely apologized after first lightly lambasting him, as I'm sure it was incredibly traumatic for him...it's not everyday you have a cyclist blast into your window. I just called him a few minutes ago to make sure he was ok, and he is.
He already reported the accident to State Farm, and I called in to make sure they had the details right...they didn't. The officer had me going through the windshield (hell of a trick, no?). Under the box on the accident report where it asks if any damage was done to a vehicle in excess of $1,000, he checked 'no'. Layfolks have no idea what we invest in these bikes.
My comment to State Farm is there will be no suit, but I want the entire bike replaced. You cannot believe how hard I hit him, and there's not a part on the bike that I am willing to trust again. So, when you add-up all the parts individually at suggested list (including helmet and ripped new tights), you are looking at over $9,000 not including tax.
Thanks again for all the kind thoughts. Bad news is that I don't think I'm making tomorrow morning's ride....damn!
