Bringing the bike to the mechanic and wait for the bike to be fixed (even on the spot)---> not worth it, because I'd have to drive or walk to the LBS. Given that most mechanics here make you wait a day at least for most non-minor jobs, I don't bother, I just do it myself, unless it's a job I cannot do, then I'll take it to the LBS.
