The bearings in the Hurricane wheelset, both front and rear, are sealed bearings. There is no adjustment for them, they fit in hub race and you tighten down the axle. The new front hub is the mtb hub, the one they use on the mountain bikes drilled for 32 spokes. It is a very simple hub, comes apart with allen wrenches. I have that front hub (in the disc version) on a set of wheels and never had any problem with it. It doesn't intrinsically have any play at all. You didn't indicate if the rear hub was an issue. My suggestion, put it into a trueing stand and you will be able to measure at the wheel whether or not there is play, or if it is just imagined. If you have the correct bearings in place and there really is play, then you need to speak with American Classic about a replacement. To check the bearings look at a set and get the number off of them. Refer to the support section of the American Classic web site to get the specs. Numbers should match up.
