For some stupid reason, I deterred from my normal snow/ice route (1-2 inches overnight) and took a more busy route (Ustick toward Eagle for those in the area). By rush hour, that route would be crawling, but at 6:30 am and little traffic, there were plenty of idiots flying along on the ice.

I was riding along at about 18mph when a pickup went flying by me (about 40mph) from behind.....SIDEWAYS......! After about 100 yards, he slid into and across oncoming traffic and barely missed behing hit as closely as he barely missed me (5-10 feet).

IDIOT!!!! Anyone can drive 70mph on the snow......until they want to stop or turn!!!!!

From now on, I am sticking to my winter route (Pine/Executive/Emerald all the way downtown).
