lent traditional vegan fast
Okay, well carnival is coming to a close next week and though I am not overly religious, I plan on spending lent with a traditional Orthodox fasting. So basically I am using this as an excuse to go vegan for 46 days or well… just 40 as I think I would like an omelet on Sundays…
I have never done the vegetarian thing only and am wondering if there are major cravings associated with it if you just switch cold turkey (tofu?) I am also surprised to see that olive oil is not allowed. And I can’t figure out why that is. Anyone know?
Also, I am searching some of the older veggie threads (a lot in car free living for some reason) and am looking for any long trip cycling specific food ideas.
Anyway, I was wondering if there was anyone that made the same sort of leap… I assume most would be for moral reasons or health reasons other than for the hell of it.
Don’t knock it till ya try it, right? So, any thoughts?
