I have Ultegra-6620 pedals (SPD-SL), and I have ridden on them with regular shoes for over 10 miles a couple of times. In regular shoes they feel just like a platform (except when it's wet they are deadly slippery). Just something to keep in mind.
I've actually done that too and it felt ok. It wasn't wet outside though, and the leg extension felt a little too much since I was effectively sitting a few mm higher on the bike.
I had problems bunny hopping on wellgo spd style pedals when I'd unclip on one foot for one reason, but i got shimano spd pedals and don't know if those will be different.
I was basically wondering if the larger platform of the candy's would lend them to being better at riding around with regular shoes. I could do it on spd sl's ok, so I might just go with them for the trek to have the same pedals on my road shoes.
