I have a computer on my bike and the 2mm distance sounds a bit strange? What brand is it? Mine also has ties, and i think that is what most has, i have done heaps of off road riding and have had it on for ages and it hasn't tried to come off. I dont think the 2mm thing is that much of a deal. As long as the two magnets can record swiping past each other, thats all that matters
