It definitely looks VERY Vitus 979. Even the color matches my Rose '86 Vitus. But there are differences...the fork crown is different, the seat cluster is longer and bulkier, although it looks like my old style Vitus. The rear dropouts have sharp lines where the seatstays terminate, whereas the Vitus is sculpted. And of course the external cable routing bosses.
Perhaps the company bought off Vitus/Bador tooling for the 979 when the model was discontinued.

And what a coincidence regarding your choice of shift lever!!


What do you think of those shifters? What RD are you using with them and how many speeds? I was thinking Mavic 851 with a 6 speed. Also love the handle bar wrap! Is it that cello tape? What neck is that?
Love the bike! And I don't care what anyone says..........I love the color. It reminds me of a 61 Caddy Coupe DeVille in Champagne with white leather. Yum........
