yeah from what I can tell, it is brand new. It was wrapped in cardboard when i got it, the head tube doesn't look like it's ever had grease in it and there's no grease in the bottom bracket. The bb threads still have overspray on them from the paint job. Sorry to hear about your buddy. Maybe you can get him on a bike for the rehab of his legs.
