You can get pulled over in some states with neons under your cars. But the things is, red and blue are emergency colours so people can get confused (f they're on a car) for being and ambulance or something. On bikes the only reason you would probably get pulled over would be because they are tight asses and could charge you for not having 'correct saftey gear' (front and rear lights)
I have had friends pulled over for using blue lights here in Everett so yes be careful. If you use red for other than a rear light they may do the same. Check with your local law enforcement folks to be on the safe side.
