Definitely easier than any Look pedal I've ever used. The basic eggbeater style is easiest in my opinion - and I usually ride Crank Bros. The road pedals aren't any tighter, but the extra shoe contact seems to make it just slightly tougher, since you are turning against resistance a bit against the sole of your shoe as well as the spring.
