Ok. My situation [my mind, actually] has changed. Instead of doing a zone 4 training ride with Team BBC, I'm going to get it through the DC Randonnuer ride described as follows:
"FUNKY MONKEY BUSINESS," starting from the Woodbine
Park & Ride in Woodbine, Maryland. MEETING TIME 7:30
a.m.
I hope you'll join us on this beautiful ride as we
travel on roads of yesteryear that were
once-upon-a-time affectionately referred to as
"unmitigated brutality" and "gruesome," i.e., SCENIC!
See the best of Baltimore County, including the
Prettyboy Dam and reservoir. Lunch at the Wagon Wheel
Restaurant in Hereford. Elevation gain of AT LEAST
8500 feet promised. I'm sure Chuck's "new & improved"
GPS will register far more than that.
100 miles, with 41 and 68-mile options, plus a couple
of 5-mile optional shortcuts on the century route. The
pre-lunch shortcut skips Prettyboy, though, so I don't
recommend it!
Directions to the ride start:
From the Baltimore Beltway:
Take I-70 west about 18 miles to exit #73 From the
ramp turn right onto MD94 north Woodbine Road. Go 1/4
around the traffic circle and turn onto Old Frederick
Road. Turn left into the shopping center and then left
again into the park and ride.
From Frederick:
