I took off my SLR a few nights ago to adjust something because it kept making a creaking noise (figured out that it was bolted on too tight) and I had an interesting time putting it back on. I noticed that the rails were closer together than they should be, but they're ti so they moved apart enough to get into the clamp.

I hope your problem gets resolved, but this is why I wouldn't buy a saddle with carbon rails.
