Glad you're ok.
The most dangerous part of my commute is the ~1.5 miles between the main road and my house (through a neighborhood). Cutting corners on turns, blowing stop signs, and don't even get me started on the roundabouts.
I see far less lazy driving on the arterials that make up the remainder of my commute, and generally feel as safe or safer there than I do on the "quiet side streets".
