Not to be an enabler or anything, and if I remember, your dogs are on the large side, so this might not work for you, but...there's an attachment called a
Wideloader that allows you to attach dog crates, etc to the Xtracycle. I'm thinking about finding a crate that will work to take my 30 pound dog to the vet on the bike.

Not as wide as you'd think. I don't know exactly, but the trail I rode home yesterday has a lot of tight turns, and I don't recall having any trouble negotiating them. I did take them a bit wider than usual, but I only remember one time that I had to stop and start over.
