*Usually* dents in a top tube will only be cosmetic, and not affect a bikes performance or safety...but it can reduce its '"curb appeal" and value, depends on how fussy the buyer is.
Not that I plan to try it on this bike, but what is this "blocks" and vise method?

I think I'll emphasize that the frame is sound, the dent is only cosmetic, and charge a good negotiable price. Hey, it's still bound to get way more than what I paid for it.

I briefly entertained the idea of painting a Band-Aid graphic over the dent. If I wanted to be really OCD I'd repaint the decal where it was worn away after sanding and retouching.

I have really knocked myself out on this bike 'just because' and I'll post pics when I'm finished. Most of the touch ups are nearly invisible and it has cleaned up beautifully. It looks gorgeous...still re-assembling it. Some lucky so-and-so who is willing to look past the minor ding is going to get a beautiful ride.

Like I've said, if it were my size the lucky so-and-so would be me.
