Of interest to me, because my bike is pretty much the same in essentials -- light (as I can get it, took some investing!) hardtail set up for commuting/road/lightish off-road/all-weather. Given that, the Marathon Supremes have looked interesting to me, as an alternative to Panaracer Pasela TG (1.5 or 1.75") which I've been using for a while now.
You're welcome.

Regarding the Supremes and off road riding.... mmmm... I'm not sure about that. I mean, I don't do anything nearly like aggresive riding, I merely commute. The instances I've (ridden? rode? whatever) over grass/mud/sand I've been cautious, no hard cornering, no hard braking. The supremes made me feel comfident for the bike not to slip under me, but I didn't take them to the limit, so to speak.

All sorts of pavement are another story. That's the primary design target of the tires, and they behave like champions - lots of grip and low rolling resistance. Still haven't tested them on rainy days, tough.

They are a bit spendy, 38 € apiece at the LBS, but I think they are some of the best FLATPROOF tires for urban and road use.
I followed Sheldon's (what a sad loss, makes me mad) advice on tire width/rolling resistance/shock absorbing, and went for 2.00 for all the above and better grip on loose surfaces.

Do you have any pics of your bike?
