You're probably right that the amount is likely not significant after calculating some scenarios.

I guess it looks a lot more dramatic when sportTracks plots the elevation map with ft vs. miles. If it plotted miles vs. miles, I think it would look almost flat.

There's probably something more worthy to nit-pick than this.
