My understanding is all that makes a drop bar "ergo" is that it has lots of little bends in it, as opposed to a constantly curving "traditional bar." Most bars, aluminum or carbon fall into this category these days. I tend to prefer ergo as it's more comfortable (for me) to brake in the drops, but there is a ton of variety. If you want a very shallow reach ergo bar, I like the Ritchey Biomax.
I don't know how similar the two are, but I have the Ritchey Biomax II and I really like them.
