The (I believe from Bell helmets) saying of ... "Got a $10 head? Buy a $10 helmet!" applies here also.

Get a quality hitch mounted rack, and your worries are over! The beauty of a hitch mounted rack is that when not in use, it's gone from your auto - very clean way to go, IMHO.
