Also, make sure there's adequate room and visibility to pass. I'd rather slow down and wait for a proper opening instead of trying to squeeze through on a trail with oncoming riders while on a curvy trail section... (and i've seen it done by the occasional JAC who must have had some allergy to using their brakes)
