Ahhh, well if your tutu is getting caught in the chain you should really change from the romantic to the classical variety and you will be fine. Can't do much about the beer though....
Seriously, I have been dancing (I do ballet recreationally and I also belly dance - see pic) for years and I had a terrible chronic hip injury. The physiotherapist wanted me to do these awful squats against a wall, which I could never bear to do, yet cycling, especially uphill has the same effect and the pain is all but gone. It has also strengthened my muscles, which before were very flexible, but soft. Meanwhile the dancing is great for core strength and balance, so the two are a great cross training combo.
