Without know what kind of wheels you currently ride, it's impossible for us to tell you if switching to this wheel is going to be smoother.

However, if smoother is what you're looking for, go the cheaper and more effective way of ensuring a smoother ride - buy wider tires. But make sure they fit in your frame - some frames have tight clearances.
