That effort was only worth 45th! I ended up cracking hard on the last lap and finished off the back of the field. I thought a teammate made a break, so I listened to the little voice in my head that was screaming "game over loser!"
Super hard cross winds and highly variable pace made it tough as hell. I can't wait until I can race 35+ where we will average 25mph, but the race will be between 22 and 32mph the entire distance, rather than vacillating between 16 mph to 40mph
sustained. OUCH!
