It seems like everyday is a good ride for me. Even when unpredictable cars whiz by me, I do kind of stress out, but when I get home, I feel great.
Yesterday, was an especially good day. It had rained the previous day, and it was just blue skies...Sometimes I'd stop next to the curb and just sit there just admiring how great everything smells and feels.
As I got back on my bike, it felt great to ride down the hills and feel the cold crisp air up against my face. There were hardly any cars on that Sunday morning, and it felt good just to enjoy the solitude of the road.
Most times, I say "hi" to the runners and walkers that frequent the area I ride by. We have a lot of regulars out there walking or running. We have a few cyclists that ride by and say "hi" as well, but they're usually speedin' by me.
We're in the "Green" season in So Cal now, so the hills and trees are all green from the wet weather we've been having. It seems in So Cal, we only have two seasons, "Green" and "Brown". During the Brown season, we don't usually have enough water, so the hills and brush around them turn brown.
Someone once said that sometimes it's just the journey itself, rather than the destination, that makes it all worthwhile.
