There is a hop and a bend at the seam, and the seam isn't lined up correctly so there's an obvious lip. There is another smaller hop on the other side of the wheel, near the valve stem.
I think I got ahold of a crappy aerohead. I bought these rims as a set, and the second one is almost perfect. No problems at all in building it up.
