I got hit with a potato on Friday while riding a nice country road. After hitting me in the elbow with the potato the guy turned around and came at me a couple more times screaming and then threw a soda bottle. I was on a rural road, so I didn't have anywhere to go. I was terrified for the rest of my ride that he was going to come from behind and run me over.

Now I'm kinda bummed out on road cycling in this town since this is the second time a driver has thrown something at me while riding (last time I got hit in the face with a full can of beer). These incidents are unprovoked; I don't even take the lane while riding.

What do you guys do when you're attacked by a driver?
