I once was messing with a bike.

Tried to fit an axle in cups. It didnt fit

Think it was Raleigh Axle in other cups.
Maybe the other way

Anyway axle was thicker than normal

Also check old cups for wear and rust. theres only a thin CASE of hardening on it.
