Tuck 'n' roll for sure, my wrist felt pretty sore for an hour or so after dumping my roadbike last week.
When I was a kid I used to do crazy dumb stuff, pull huge skids, crash a lot, etc. but now - even skidding is a technique I've seemingly forgotten to do well - just a different mindset when riding now I guess. I know how much it /can/ hurt to fall, and it's an ever present fear of hitting the ground that makes me overly cautious at times, tracks amplify that even more likely due to me breaking my wrist a couple years ago on them. Breaking my wrist was a massive inconvenience I'd really rather never experience again.
I also ride WAY further and WAY faster than I ever did when I was a kid, and in amongst a lot more traffic than I ever cared to play in when younger. At 27 I do feel my age a lot more, even in the last 4 years I've noticed a change... AIEEEEE!
As for CM, it'll be on rain, shine, sleet or snow. I'll probably make it.
PS, ******* cold out there this morning - a 15 degree temp. change to the negative overnight is just not cool. My street was dangerously slippy, to the point where I only had to think about backpedalling and I'd be skidding along quite merrily - an interesting wake up call first thing.
