Cross posted on the commuter forum, this is what this bike is mostly used for, although it will do the odd century and charity ride.
Frame and fork are columbus SLX from early 80's with most derailleur mounts now ground off. I recovered the bike sans front wheel from a dumpster. I powdercoated the frame matt black.
I run a 45x17 fixed gear (15 for group rides), the cranks, seatpost, headset and front brake are all original campy parts. I added the Nitto moustache bar and stem and wheelset with Armadillo 25C tires and thornproof tubes. I am considering adding a brooks saddle to complete the "look".
I have enjoyed commuting on this bike for the last two years, so much so, that I am considering going fixed gear for off road as well.
