If you're asking about SFVBC member Eric, who crashed near the Rock Store last July, he is not riding. He sustained nerve damage and is still having trouble seeing out of his left eye.

As a SFVBC member since 1989, it does seem like there are a lot more crashes this last year, or so, but that could be partly because of the internet and the access to more information.
This is a very dangerous thing we do, and there have been bad crashes ever since I have been aware of riding. I don't think it's some sort of curse, if anything it might be related to more people pushing themselves to ride more and faster. Sometimes it gets to the point that I want to quit, or at least stay away from road riding for a while.
